
Host a Book Drive.
Looking for a service project for your school, youth group, or business? Running a book drive is an easy way to provided philanthropic opportunities to people of all ages! For children and students, a book drive supporting Books from the Heart allows them to directly help same aged kids. For parents and families, a book drive creates a great opportunity to clear out those bookshelves and playrooms of books their children have outgrown.
Ready to run your book drive?
Contact us and let us know you are planning to hold a drive and would like to donate to Books from the Heart.
Start spreading the word! Posters, e-mail, social media, you name it! Advertise as much as you can and as early as you can leading up to your drive.
Be sure to include start and end dates for the drive.
Make sure your collection bins are large enough to be visible, but pack the books in boxes that are small enough to be carried and won’t weigh too much.
Reach out when you’re ready to arrange a drop off/pick time.
Preparing & Packing Books for Delivery
If you are hosting a large book drive, there are a few steps you can take to help us get the right books to the right kids!
Sort books by age group: infant (board books), pre-school, elementary, middle school, high school.
Box your books so they are neat, organized, and not too heavy to be carried.
Count the number of book you package so we can celebrate your efforts and include your could in our yearly totals.
A few guidelines
If a book has sounds or pop-ups they must work/not be ripped
NO adult books
NO magazines, textbooks, encyclopedias, coloring books, or workbooks
NO library discards
